Sign-On Bonus: $3,000 for qualifying candidates, paid as $1,500 after 90 days and $1,500 after 180 days.

Diesel Technician / Refrigeration a Plus

Salary: $20.00 - $45.00/hr (depending on location and experience)

Job Summary

This role involves routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on trucks/vehicles and related equipment. Candidates should have a solid knowledge of mechanic’s tools, diagnostic equipment, and excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently or as part of a team is essential.

Mechanic Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics and repairs on starting & charging systems, cooling, electrical, and fault codes.
• Inspect and diagnose mechanical issues, faulty or replacement parts.
• Perform leak detection, compressor replacements, soldering refrigerant lines, and engine seal replacements per industry standards.
• Conduct routine maintenance and federal inspections on trailers and vehicles.
• Document repairs and follow safety and quality checklists.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety guidelines.
• Support team members and perform additional duties as assigned.

Knowledge-Based Requirements

• Knowledge of diesel vehicle systems (transmission, exhaust, electrical).
• Experience with diagnostic equipment and hand/power tools.
• ASE certifications are preferred but not required.
• 1-2 years of transport refrigeration or equivalent experience.
• Ability to pass pre-employment tests and background checks.
• Proven mechanical skills and basic math skills.
• Must be able to read/write in English and have own tools, safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, and hearing protection.

Physical Demands

• Ability to exert up to 100 lbs occasionally, 50 lbs frequently, and 20 lbs constantly.
• Stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, and perform repetitive motions.
• Visual and auditory acuity for detailed work and communication.

Work Environment

Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, often in non-climate-controlled conditions, with exposure to weather, dust, noise, chemicals, and potential hazards such as moving vehicles and high places.
