Position Summary

Our Mechanics are the backbone of our fleet. They perform preventive maintenance and repairs on trucks and equipment to ensure our vehicles are ready to service our customers.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair vehicle systems including air brakes, electrical, hydraulic, engine, and emission-related equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair specialty equipment.
  • Respond to road calls or breakdowns when necessary.
  • Order parts and supplies as necessary.
  • Utilize fleet management software to record repairs and maintenance.
  • Assist the regional fleet manager or supervisor to resolve fleet-related issues.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on various vehicles and equipment.
  • Perform inspections and document conditions on all equipment.
  • Coordinate repairs with outside vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations (EPA, DOT, OSHA, etc.).
  • Other duties as required.
Work Environment
  • Exposure to outside weather conditions, fumes, and noise.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Interaction with customers.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to interpret documents, policies, safety rules, and instructions.
  • Effective communication with customers, co-workers, and management.
  • Ability to work independently and manage pressure.
  • Basic computer skills (email, internet).
  • Basic math skills.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
  • At least 5+ years' experience in fleet or transportation industry, with direct truck repair experience.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
  • Class A or B CDL with willingness to obtain tanker endorsement if requested.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and fleet management software is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Attention to detail and integrity.
  • Welding experience is a plus.
  • Ability to pass DOT drug screen, medical, physical, and road exams.
  • Ability to operate in a drug-free workplace and meet physical demands.
