What You’ll Do:

• Promote Safety: Prioritize safety throughout operations for yourself and others, in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards.
• Repair and Maintain Mobile Equipment: Repair, adjust, and test mobile equipment to maximize performance and minimize downtime, including rebuilding components like engines, transmissions, brakes, hammers, and differentials.
• Inspect Equipment and Material: Regularly inspect mobile equipment to identify issues and perform repairs as needed.
• Handle and Move Objects: Safely handle, install, position, and move parts, materials, and tools within the shop and plant.
• Document and Record Information: Maintain accurate documentation and service reports for all mobile equipment daily and monthly.
• Perform General Physical Activities: Engage in physical activities such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.

Skills You’ll Need:

• Experience: 3-5 years working on diesel or heavy construction equipment preferred. Ability to obtain a DOT medical card.
• Knowledge of Best Practices: Understanding of repairing heavy construction equipment; self-motivated with limited supervision.
• Flexibility: Willing to travel overnight, work overtime, and extended hours as required, and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Mechanical Skills: Knowledge of industrial tools, their maintenance, and operation of specialty tools and equipment.
