Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or completion of Certified Technician training program.
• TSBP Registration.
• 2+ years of retail pharmacy experience OR completion of an Accredited Pharmacy Technician Program.
• Ability to read merchandise labels and invoices; to answer questions by phone; to write prescription information.
• Ability to communicate with customers to handle complaints and problems.
• Ability to operate a computer terminal for processing prescriptions.
• Money handling: add, subtract, give change; complete daily cash report.
• Ability to type 20 WPM.
• Stress tolerance in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical stamina to work in a busy pharmacy.

Responsibilities

• Counts, pours, and packages medication for pharmacist review.
• Enters prescription and patient information into the pharmacy computer system.
• Retrieves medication from stock.
• Refers medical, prescription, or questions to Pharmacist.
• At point of sale, verifies correct prescription.
• Enters sales, processes payments, and bags merchandise.
• Enters refill requests and contacts physician or refill hotline.
• Answers and transfers phone calls.
• Stock OTC shelves, follow plan-o-gram, label items, and adjust prices.
• Assist customers in locating OTC needs.
• Front shelves and clean counters; attend meetings as designated.
