Job summary

Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, part of the Optum family, is hiring a Pharmacy Technician in Houston, TX. You’ll assist the Pharmacist with prescriptions, handle customers, process sales, stock OTC items, and support daily pharmacy operations.

Requirements: HS diploma or Certified Technician training, TSBP registration, 2+ years retail pharmacy experience or an accredited program, and IDX proficiency. Strong math and customer service are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• TSBP Registration required.
• 2+ years retail pharmacy experience or completion of an accredited Technician program.
• Ability to read labels and invoices; to answer questions over the phone; to write information on prescriptions.
• Ability to operate a computer terminal and handle cash accurately.

Responsibilities

• Counts, pours, and packages medication for pharmacist review.
• Enters prescription and patient information into the IDX system.
• Retrieves medication from stock and ensures correct items at the point of sale.
• Assists customers, answers questions, and processes prescriptions and sales.
• Stock OTC items, maintains OTC areas, and updates price signs as needed.
• Handles daily cash reports and maintains accuracy in transactions.
