Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist pharmacists in the inpatient hospital setting, including sterile and non-sterile compounding. The role focuses on accurate distribution, inventory management, and patient-care support across infusion centers, OR, and other areas.

Applicants should have a high school diploma and MA registration or PTCB certification, with at least one year of pharmacy experience including sterile compounding.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Registered Technician or Pharmacy Intern with MA Board of Pharmacy and PTCB certified, or student in good standing with Mass. internship license.
• Knowledge of standard pharmaceutical terms and handling of controlled substances and hazardous materials preferred.

Responsibilities

• In conjunction with other Pharmacy Technicians, ensure medication distribution functions are completed safely and timely; inform Pharmacist of workflow issues.
• Repackages and compounds medications as needed following procedures.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels by rotating stock, checking expirations, and informing the Pharmacy Buyer when low.
• Answer telephone calls, triage requests and resolve questions and problems.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement activities within the department.
• Assist Pharmacists to ensure adequate stock to meet patient needs.
