Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist pharmacists in inpatient medication preparation and distribution. You will help fill orders and ensure correct delivery to inpatient units, performing sterile and non-sterile compounding as needed in the infusion clinic or hospital setting.

The role requires at least one year of pharmacy experience, knowledge of medical terms, and fluency with electronic medical records.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of standard pharmaceutical terms and abbreviations used in dispensing.
• Experience with electronic medical records and policies for controlled substances.
• Minimum one year pharmacy experience including sterile compounding or retail.

Responsibilities

• Ensure medication distribution functions are completed safely and timely.
• Repack and compound medications per departmental procedures.
• Maintain inventory levels and rotate stock; inform buyers when low.
• Answer calls, triage requests and resolve questions or problems.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and meet customer needs.
• Support pharmacists to ensure adequate stock for patient care.
