Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in inpatient medication preparation and distribution. The role involves sterile and non-sterile compounding in hospital settings or infusion clinics, with emphasis on accuracy and patient safety.

Responsibilities include packaging, inventory management, phone triage, and participation in quality improvement. Requires MA registration, PTCB, and at least one year of pharmacy experience; vaccines influenza policy

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Registered Technician or Pharmacy Intern with MA Board of Pharmacy and PTCB certified, or a Pharmacy student in good standing with Mass. internship license.
• Knowledge of standard pharmaceutical terms and policies for handling controlled substances and hazardous materials preferred.
• Experience with electronic medical records preferred.
• At least one year of Pharmacy experience including sterile compounding and/or retail experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensures that all medication distribution functions are completed safely and timely.
• Repackages and compounds medications as needed per procedures.
• Maintains appropriate inventory levels and communicates with Pharmacy Buyer.
• Answers calls, triages requests and resolves questions and problems.
• Participates in quality improvement activities and department goals.
• Supports Pharmacists to ensure adequate stock for patient needs.
• Performs duties in Infusion Center, OR, receiving, etc.
