Job summary

Advocate Christ Medical Center - Pharmacy is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist dispensing and medication delivery while mastering the department’s information systems and automation.

Requires a High School diploma and CPhT certification within 2 years; no prior experience required. Full-time, 40 hours/week with rotating shifts, rotating holidays, every other weekend, and mandatory midnight rotation. Benefits included.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• CPhT certification within 2 years.
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Develops competence in dispensing and delivery of medications.
• Develops competence in preparing non-sterile products following guidelines.
• Enter medication orders in the computer system and process requests.
• Handle calls from nurses, physicians or patients with timely resolution or hand-off.
• Maintain pharmacy procedures and documentation per legal/regulatory standards.
• Comply with USP, state, federal requirements including controlled substances procedures.
