Job summary

Advocate Aurora Health's Advocate Christ Medical Center - Pharmacy is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, including handling hazardous and controlled substances. The role requires hospital experience and may involve IV admixture with proper aseptic technique, in rotating AM/PM shifts.

Employees work 40 hours per week with full benefits eligibility; certification through CPhT or ExCPT is expected within 18 months.

Qualifications

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proven ability to work with multiple departments and matrix structures.
Strong organizational skills with ability to work with moderate guidance.
Effective critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making abilities.
Knowledge of metrics used to measure revenue cycle quality and processes.
Ability to lead a diverse group of teams.

Responsibilities

Assists licensed pharmacist in technical duties related to preparation and distribution of medications.
Selects, prepares, and labels medications for patients including hazardous drugs and controlled substances.
Assists with medication distribution tasks.
Screens calls and routes as needed using proper telephone etiquette.
Maintains daily pharmacy procurement, inventory control, and outdate checking.
