Job summary

Advocate Health Care is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for Advocate Christ Medical Center. The role involves dispensing medications, operating pharmacy information systems, and supporting non‑sterile product preparation.

No experience required, but CPhT certification must be obtained within 2 years. Strong math, attention to detail, and good communication are essential. Able to stand and perform duties in a hospital pharmacy setting.

Qualifications

Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT) within 2 years or NCCT/CPhT equivalent within 2 years.
High School Graduate.
Strong math skills and attention to detail; good written and verbal communication.
Familiar with computer systems and basic software used in pharmacy operations.

Responsibilities

Dispense medications and ensure accurate delivery.
Develop competence with pharmacy information systems and automation.
Prepare non-sterile products following USP/state/federal guidelines.
Enter medication orders and process requests via computer systems.
Handle phone calls from nurses, physicians, and patients with clear communication.
Ensure documentation meets regulatory standards and pharmacy procedures.
