Texas Health Dallas invites applications for a Pharmacy Technician I in the Pharmacy Department. This role supports timely medication preparation and distribution to nursing units, while upholding patient safety standards and quality practices.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, RPhT upon hire, and preferred IV certification. Strong English, computer skills, and the ability to work independently or in a team are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required
• 6 months of retail or hospital pharmacy tech experience preferred
• RPhT – Registered Pharmacy Technician upon hire required
• IV certification preferred
• Strong English language, computer skills, and basic math (conversions, ratios)
• Ability to work independently and in a team

Responsibilities

• Timely and accurate preparation, delivery to nursing units and storage of medications; use of technology varies by location.
• Ensure accuracy of own work and maintain required competencies and documentation.
• Pursue ongoing professional development, lead by example and manage time effectively.
• Communicate effectively, build positive relationships and model teamwork.
• Train new employees on routine tasks under supervision.
• Share responsibility for minimizing costs and discovering process efficiencies.

Work hours: PRN- Rotating/Nights

Here’s What You Need

• H.S. Diploma or Equivalent is required
• 6 months of retail or hospital Pharmacy Technician experience is strongly preferred
• RPhT - Registered Pharmacy Technician Upon Hire is required
• And - Other IV Certification is preferred
• Proficiency in written and verbal English language, computers, the ability to adapt to various software systems, and basic math including conversions, proportions, ratios, and algebra.
• The ability to work alone and as part of a team.

What You Will Do

• Timely and accurate preparation, delivery to the nursing units/appropriate departments & storage of medications, including (when appropriate) the use of technology to do so, varies by location.
• Ensuring accuracy of one's own work as well as the maintenance of required competencies, and other documentation. Must reflect consistently departmental quality improvement and Patient Safety standards, programs, and initiatives.
• Ongoing professional development and growth, leads by example, perpetuates accountability, manages own time.
• Communicate effectively, develop positive working relationships and role model teamwork that reflects the Texas Health Promise Behaviors.
• Trains new employees on routine tasks, under the direction of designated personnel.
• Shares the responsibility for minimizing pharmaceutical costs (including wastage) and discovering new process efficiencies.
