Job summary

Texas Health Resources is seeking a Pharmacy Technician I in the Pharmacy Department at Texas Health Dallas. This role requires both independent work and teamwork to ensure timely preparation, delivery, and storage of medications across nursing units and other departments.

You’ll participate in ongoing professional development, train new staff as needed, and contribute to cost-saving initiatives while maintaining high patient-care standards in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 6 months of retail or hospital Pharmacy Technician experience preferred.
  • RPhT - Registered Pharmacy Technician Upon Hire required.
  • IV Certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in written and verbal English, computers, and the ability to adapt to various software systems.

Responsibilities

  • Timely and accurate preparation and delivery of medications to nursing units/departments and storage of medications, using appropriate technology.
  • Maintain accuracy of own work and ensure compliance with department quality improvement and Patient Safety standards.

Here’s What You Need
  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent is required
  • 6 months of retail or hospital Pharmacy Technician experience is strongly preferred
  • RPhT - Registered Pharmacy Technician Upon Hire is required And
  • Other IV Certification is preferred
  • Proficiency in written and verbal English language, computers, the ability to adapt to various software systems, and basic math including conversions, proportions, ratios, and algebra.
  • The ability to work alone and as part of a team.What You Will Do
  • Timely and accurate preparation, delivery to the nursing units/appropriate departments & storage of medications, including (when appropriate) the use of technology to do so, varies by location.
  • Ensuring accuracy of one's own work as well as the maintenance of required competencies, and other documentation. Must reflect consistently departmental quality improvement and Patient Safety standards, programs, and initiatives.
  • Ongoing professional development and growth, leads by example, perpetuates accountability, manages own time.
  • Communicate effectively, develop positive working relationships and role model teamwork that reflects the Texas Health Promise Behaviors.
  • Trains new employees on routine tasks, under the direction of designated personnel.
  • Shares the responsibility for minimizing pharmaceutical costs (including wastage) and discovering new process efficiencies.
