Job summary

Texas Health Resources in Plano is hiring a Pharmacy Technician II to support medication preparation and distribution in a high‑quality hospital setting.

The position requires a HS diploma, 6 months of hospital pharmacy experience, RPhT certification on hire, and preferred IV certification. Strong English communication and basic math are essential; team collaboration is expected. This is a full‑time role with rotating shifts and every-other-weekend coverage.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 6 months of experience in a Texas Health hospital pharmacy.
• RPhT certification required upon hire.
• IV certification strongly preferred upon hire.
• Proficiency in English and basic math including conversions and ratios.
• Ability to communicate clearly with patients, families, and staff.

Work location: Texas Health Plano - 6200 West Parker Road TX 75093-7914. Work hours: Full Time – Rotating Shift; 40 hours/a week. Every other weekend with weekday coverage.

Here’s What You Need

• H.S. Diploma or Equivalent is required
• 6 Months experience in a Texas Health hospital pharmacy is required
• RPhT - Registered Pharmacy Technician Upon Hire is required
• IV Certification Upon Hire is strongly preferred
• Proficiency in written and verbal English language, computers, the ability to adapt to various software systems, and basic math including conversions, proportions, ratios, and algebra. The ability to work alone, and as part of a team.
• Ability to communicate and respond verbally and in writing to or for patients, family members and staff members

What You Will Do

• Functionality requiring additional competency above Tech I, may require less supervision than a Tech I
• Autonomous responsibility either with record keeping or as a single point of contact outside the department
• Advanced technology expertise and ownership
• Delegated functions of pharmacy leadership (manager or lead technicians)
• Timely and accurate preparation, delivery to the nursing units/appropriate departments & storage of medications, including (when appropriate) the use of technology to do so, varies by location.
• Ensuring accuracy of one's own work as well as the maintenance of required competencies, and other documentation. Must reflect consistently departmental quality improvement and patient safety standards, programs and initiatives.
• Ongoing professional development and growth, leads by example, perpetuates accountability, manages own time.
