Job summary

Atrium Health Winston-Salem is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for PRN, variable shifts at the Winston Campus. The role supports pharmaceutical operations, assists pharmacists, and ensures safe medication handling and labeling.

High school diploma or GED and NC Board of Pharmacy registration are required, with professional certification (CPhT) preferred. Responsibilities include medication preparation, inventory control, and potential immunization duties under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed pharmacist in technical duties related to preparation and distribution of medications.
• Select, prepare, and label medications for patients including hazardous drugs and controlled substances.
• Assist with medication distribution tasks.
• Screen calls and route them using proper etiquette.
• Participate in procurement, inventory control, and outdate checking.
• Document medication admission histories and data entry into the pharmacy system.
• Perform nonsterile compounding and sterile IV admixture where applicable.
• Maintain compliance with storage policies and PPE guidelines.
• Support immunization certification and potential immunizations under supervision.
• Operate organization vehicles to deliver medications as required.
• May train technicians and extenders on policies and workflows.
• Adhere to all policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
• Support area leaders with goals and workload assignments.
