Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician I to support pharmacy services, including preparing medications, inventory control and customer service, under supervision of the Pharmacy Technician Supervisor.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, state certification in Massachusetts, and 0-1 years of related experience. Proficiency with computer systems and MS Office is preferred. On-site position with competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Active state certification with Board of Pharmacy in Massachusetts.
• 0-1 years related work experience required.
• Ability to develop strong relationships with diverse groups of professionals (physicians, nurses, administration).
• Experience with computer systems including web-based applications and Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Under pharmacist supervision, processes prescription orders and prepares medications.
• Communicates courteously with patients and staff.
• Handles delivery and pickup of patient-specific medications and packs orders.
• Obtains information for new prescriptions and reconciliation.
• Refers clinical questions to a pharmacist in a timely manner.
• Files prescriptions, records and logs in compliance with law.
• Maintains cleanliness of pharmacy areas and supplies.
• Follows department policies and procedures.
• Adapts to changing departmental needs and supports team members.
• Assists enrollment processes for patient support programs when applicable.
