Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician I to join our Boston area team. Under pharmacist supervision, you will prepare and distribute medications, manage inventory, and provide patient-focused service while ensuring compliance with policy and law.

This role requires MA certification, a high school diploma or GED, and 0–1 year of related experience. Strong computer and MS Office skills are needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Active state certification with Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy.
• 0–1 year related work experience.
• Ability to develop relationships with diverse groups of professionals (physicians, nurses, administration).
• Experience with computer systems including web-based applications and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Process prescription orders under pharmacist supervision; retrieve, count, measure, and prepare medications as directed.
• Conduct interpersonal communications in a courteous and friendly manner.
• Fill, pickup and deliver patient-specific medications; pack, process, and track orders.
• Obtain information for new prescriptions and reconciliation per the law.
• Refer clinician and customer clinical questions to a pharmacist promptly.
• Retrieve and file prescriptions and logs per legal requirements.
• Maintain cleanliness of all pharmacy areas and supplies.
• Adhere to department policies and procedures.
• Adapt to changing needs and assist teammates as needed.
• Assist enrollment processes for patient support programs when applicable.
