The University of Iowa Health Care is seeking a full-time Pharmacy Technician Certified or Trainee to join their team. This role involves direct patient contact, technical activities in dispensing areas, and collaboration with hospital staff. The technician will support training and coordination while ensuring compliance and maintaining records. Applicants must achieve certification within one year of employment and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Experience in natural sciences or an accredited pharmacy technician program is preferred.
The University of Iowa Health Care Department of Pharmaceutical Care is seeking a full-time Pharmacy Technician Certified or Trainee to join our team. This position operates under the general supervision of a pharmacist, coordinating and performing technical activities in dispensing areas. It involves direct contact with patients in hospital rooms, discretionary patient room entry, and collaboration with hospital staff. The technician supports development, coordination, and training within their assigned areas, providing functional supervision as needed. All pharmacy technicians must achieve certification within one year of employment. The role involves 8-hour shifts between 7:00 am and 8:30 pm, with occasional hours outside this window and rotating weekends, supporting both pediatric and adult ambulatory care at a UI Health Care central fill pharmacy location.
The department intends to hire either a Pharmacy Technician Trainee or Certified Technician, depending on the candidate's qualifications. Please specify your preference in your application materials.

Minimum Eligibility for Trainee Technician:
Experience: Two years of post-high school experience/education in natural sciences or completion of an accredited pharmacy technician program.
