Job summary

Ascension in Austin, TX is seeking a Pharmacy Operations Supervisor to manage daily technician scheduling and performance, while ensuring adherence to regulatory standards. You will drive process improvements and collaborate with physicians and other departments to optimize pharmacy operations.

The role requires leadership of staff, ensuring compliance and executing hire/train/evaluate processes within a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy technician licensure from NHA or PTCB required.
• 5+ years retail/mail-order pharmacy experience preferred.
• Experience supervising pharmacy operations and technician teams preferred.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Schedules and assigns daily work assignments for pharmacy technicians and may perform the duties of a pharmacy technician.
• Oversees process improvement activities.
• Acts as liaison between department, other hospital departments, physicians and external customers in matters relating to pharmacy operations.
• Collaborates with other disciplines to ensure that procedures and policies comply with organizational, federal, state and Board of Pharmacy rules and regulations.
• Conducts hiring, training, directing, development and evaluation of staff.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
  • One or more of the following:
    • Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the National Healthcare Association obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
    • Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education

High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree with 1 year of experience OR 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Additional Preferences

• Minimum of 5+ years of retail/mail-order pharmacy experience is required.
• Demonstrated experience leading or supervising pharmacy operations and technician teams is highly preferred.
