Job summary

Ascension is hiring for a Full-time, on-site Pharmacy Technician at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton, WI. The role involves supporting pharmacists, maintaining dispensing systems, and handling compounding and inventory tasks in a hospital pharmacy. PRN schedule offers flexible hours between 5:00am and 10:30pm.

Qualifications

• Wisconsin Pharmacy Examining Board credential required; must provide proof of application and maintain licensure.
• PTCB credential preferred.
• NHA credential preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide distributive pharmacy services and technical support for the pharmacist prior to receiving certification.
• Refill and maintain automated dispensing systems.
• Prepare orders and maintain inventory for the pharmacy department.
• Prepare sterile and non-sterile compounds.
• Repackage bulk medications.
• Serve as liaison between pharmacy, patient and health professional by providing information as necessary.

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Wisconsin Pharmacy Examining Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Must provide proof of application to register with the Wisconsin Pharmacy Examining Board and once registration is granted, must be maintained.
• Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the National Healthcareer Association preferred.
• Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) preferred.

Education Requirements

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
