Job summary

Inova Alexandria Hospital is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join the team. This full-time role is Monday - Friday, with Days/Evenings rotating shifts and every other weekend, at the Inova Alexandria campus.

You will support the pharmacy team by stocking medications, pre-packing, assisting with dispensing, and counting medications under supervision of a pharmacist. VA registration or intern license and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• High School or GED is required.
• Registration as a Pharmacy Technician in Virginia or a Pharmacy intern license is required.
• BLS certification to be obtained within 3 months of hire.
• One year experience as a Pharmacy Technician is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains an adequate stock of medications and supplies according to established policies.
• Accurately pre-packs medications and restocks code carts and stock kits.
• Restocks assigned areas and utilizes inventory procedures.
• Orders items, stocks shelves, processes returns and identifies vendor errors.
• Accurately fills automated dispensing devices and unit dose pulls.
• Assists Pharmacist in drug selection and counting medications accurately.

Education

High School or GED

Registered Pharmacy Technician in Virginia or Pharmacy intern license

Basic Life Support (BLS) within 3 months of hire

ob Responsibilities:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: High School or GED.

• Certification: Registered Pharmacy Technician in the state of Virginia or a Pharmacy intern license. Basic Life Support (BLS) within 3 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience: One (1) year experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
