Job summary

Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, VA is seeking a Pharmacy Technician 2 – Medication History for a full-time, on-site role with rotating shifts and every other weekend. The ideal candidate will handle medication histories, support inpatient workflows and assist pharmacists with dispensing and inventory tasks.

Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED, VA-registered technician status or intern license, and BLS within 3 months of hire. Epic experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One year inpatient pharmacy experience preferred.
• Registered Pharmacy Technician in Virginia or Pharmacy intern license.
• BLS certification within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintain adequate stock of medications and supplies per policy.
• Accurately pre-pack medications and restock code carts.
• Restock areas, manage inventory and vendor returns.
• Fill automated dispensing devices and unit doses accurately.
• Assist Pharmacist in drug selection and counting medications.

Inova Fairfax Hospital is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician 2 – Medication History to join the team. This role will be full-time rotating shifts; every other weekend.

• Maintains an adequate stock of medications and supplies according to established policies.
• Accurately pre-packs medications and restocks code cart and stock kits.
• Restocks assigned areas, put away unused medications in addition to utilizing want book and associated inventory management procedures.
• Orders items, properly stocks shelves, processes returns and identifies vendor errors.
• Accurately fills automated dispensing devices and unit dose pick, first doses and floor stock.
• Assists Pharmacist in drug selection and counting medications accurately.

Education: High School or GED.

Experience: One (1) year inpatient pharmacy experience.

Certification: Registered Pharmacy Technician in the state of Virginia or a Pharmacy intern license. Basic Life Support (BLS) within 3 months of hire.

Preferred Requirement:

Experience: M edication History/ Patient education or counseling experience .

Epic experience.
