Job summary

Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, VA is seeking a Pharmacy Technician 2 – Medication History to join our inpatient team. This full-time role features rotating shifts and every other weekend.

You will maintain medication history, assist pharmacists, prepare meds, stock, and support patient education. Requires Virginia registered technician or intern license and BLS within 3 months.

Qualifications

• Education: High School or GED.
• Experience: 1 year inpatient pharmacy experience.
• Certification: Virginia Registered Tech or Pharmacy intern license; BLS within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Maintains an adequate stock of medications and supplies according to established policies.
• Accurately pre-packs medications and restocks code cart and stock kits.
• Restocks assigned areas, puts away unused medications, and utilizes inventory management procedures.
• Orders items, properly stocks shelves, processes returns and identifies vendor errors.
• Accurately fills automated dispensing devices and unit dose pick, first doses and floor stock.
• Assists Pharmacist in drug selection and counting medications accurately.

Pharmacy Technician 2 J Ob Responsibilities

Minimum Requirements

• Education: High School or GED.
• Experience: One (1) year inpatient pharmacy experience.
• Certification: Registered Pharmacy Technician in the state of Virginia or a Pharmacy intern license. Basic Life Support (BLS) within 3 months of hire.

Preferred Requirement

• Experience: M edication History/ Patient education or counseling experience .
• Epic experience.
