Job summary

Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, VA is seeking a Pharmacy Technician 2 - Medication History for a full-time rotating evening shift (7 on, 7 off) from 12pm to 10pm. This role supports medication history capture and medication use processes in a high‑reliability healthcare setting.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, 1 year inpatient pharmacy experience, VA registered tech or Pharmacy intern license, and BLS within 3 months.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year inpatient pharmacy experience.
• Registered Pharmacy Technician in VA or Pharmacy intern license; BLS within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Maintain stock of medications and supplies per policies.
• Pre-pack medications and restock code cart and stock kits.
• Restock areas and manage returns; follow inventory procedures.
• Order items, stock shelves, process returns; check vendor errors.
• Fill automated dispensing devices and unit-dose picks.
• Assist Pharmacist with drug selection and counting.

Inova Fairfax Hospital is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician 2 - Medication History to join the team. This role will be full-time rotating evening shift; 7on; 7off - Wednesdays - Tuesdays; 12pm - 10pm.

Pharmacy Technician 2 Job Responsibilities:

• Maintains an adequate stock of medications and supplies according to established policies.
• Accurately pre-packs medications and restocks code cart and stock kits.
• Restocks assigned areas, put away unused medications in addition to utilizing want book and associated inventory management procedures.
• Orders items, properly stocks shelves, processes returns and identifies vendor errors.
• Accurately fills automated dispensing devices and unit dose pick, first doses and floor stock.
• Assists Pharmacist in drug selection and counting medications accurately.

Minimum Requirements:

• Education: High School or GED.
• Experience: One (1) year inpatient pharmacy experience.
• Certification: Registered Pharmacy Technician in the state of Virginia or a Pharmacy intern license. Basic Life Support (BLS) within 3 months of hire.

Preferred Requirement:

• Experience: Medication History/ Patient education or counseling experience.
• Epic experience.
