Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center’s new competitive Pharmacy Technician salary range starts at $17.00 per hour for Registered Techs and $22.00 per hour for Certified Techs, and increases for candidates with prior Pharmacy Technician experience.

**Sign on bonus: $2,500 for registered technicians, $5,000 for certified. External hires only, certain conditions apply**

Responsibilities

1. Answers Phones.
2. Prepares prescription and non-prescription medication and/or devices.
3. Stocks and replenishes stock locations and automated dispensing machines (ADMs) and/or robots (example: shelves, carousels, Parata).
4. Communicates supply issues, problems or discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.

Inpatient Only:

1. Prepares or compounds non-sterile, non-antineoplastic drug products in accordance with USP chapter <795> under supervision of a licensed Pharmacist.

Outpatient Only:

1. Electronically processes prescription orders and prepares prescriptions for verification by a pharmacist.
2. Take verbal orders from providers, runs registers, performs production and data entry production.
3. Processes third party claims.

Qualifications

Registered Technicians:

• Be at least 16 years of age
• Have a high school or equivalent diploma, or be working to achieve a high school or equivalent diploma
• 2 years of customer service experience preferred (Outpatient Pharmacy only)
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification required within 9 months from date of hire.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment with accuracy.
• Ability to multitask and attention to detail.
• Ability to maintain composure under stressful situations.

Certified Technicians:

• Associates degree in a health or related field, (with 1 year of pharmacy experience) or the equivalent in education and experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment with accuracy.
• Ability to multitask and attention to detail.
• Ability to maintain composure under stressful situations.

Required Licensure/Certifications

Registered Technicians: - Registered Pharmacy Technician with the NH Board of Pharmacy required. If not registered at hire, must register with the Board within 15 days of start of employment as a pharmacy technician and post such registration in the pharmacy within 30 days (NH 803.01; 4).Certified Technicians:- Registered Pharmacy Technician with the NH Board of Pharmacy required.- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification required.- BLS Certification required within 30 days of hire for Pharmacy Technicians in the Retail or Specialty Pharmacy if required to administer immunizations
