Responsibilities

• Provides distributive pharmacy services under supervision of pharmacists, delivering quality and cost-effective drug therapy to patients.
• Performs unit dose drug distribution, prepares intravenous admixtures maintaining sterile technique, and documents compounding accurately.
• Maintains records of controlled substances and performs timely drug delivery to patient care units.
• Uses the computer system for various pharmacy functions and prepares drug orders for outpatient dispensing.
• Manages inventory, including rotation and repackaging, and communicates effectively with patients of different age groups.
• Follows safety, infection control policies, and exhibits proper equipment use.
• Assists in training new personnel and students.

Minimum Qualifications

• Work Experience: Previous pharmacy or healthcare-related experience preferred.
• Education: High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Certifications/Licensure: National Pharmacy Technician certification required; must be registered as a Pharmacy Technician by the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire.
