Job summary

Ascension’s Franklin Hospital in Franklin, WI seeks a Pharmacy Technician for Inpatient Pharmacy. This full-time days role features 40 hours weekly with 10-hour shifts (0530-1600 or 0600-1630), primarily first shift and occasional second-shift coverage.

You’ll support automated dispensing, prepare sterile and non-sterile compounds, and liaise with patients and providers to ensure timely medication information and service.

Qualifications

• Required: Pharmacy Tech credential from Wisconsin Pharmacy Examining Board before hire date; registration with WPEB; proof of application to register.
• Preferred: Nationally recognized credentials (NHA, PTCB).

Responsibilities

• Refill and maintain automated dispensing systems.
• Prepare sterile and non-sterile compounds and repackage medications.
• Triage calls and liaise between pharmacy, patients, and healthcare providers.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Automated Systems & Inventory: Refill and maintain automated dispensing machinery; receive, store, and manage pharmacy department inventory and supplies.
• Medication Preparation & Compounding: Safely prepare sterile and non-sterile compounds, repackage bulk medications, and accurately process medication orders.
• Multidisciplinary Liaison: Triage incoming calls and act as a reliable point of contact between the pharmacy, patients, and healthcare providers to deliver timely information and assistance.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
  • Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Wisconsin Pharmacy Examining Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Registration with the Wisconsin Pharmacy Examining Board required. Must provide proof of application to register with the Wisconsin Pharmacy Examining Board and once registration is granted, must be maintained.
• Preferred Credential(s):
  • Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the National Healthcareer Association.
  • Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
