Job summary

Piedmont Henry Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support IV admixtures and preparation of medications for critical care and OR satellite areas. The role involves ensuring stock levels and following standard procedures and state/federal regulations.

The ideal candidate holds a High School diploma or GED, with preferred experience in IV admixtures; licensure as a Pharmacy Technician (PHRMTECH-R) upon hire and PTCB certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
• Previous pharmacy technician experience with IV admixtures Preferred
• PHRMTECH-R - Registered Pharmacy Technician Current registration with the state Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician Upon Hire Required
• PTCB Certification Preferred

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the admixtures of medications to IV solutions.
• Preparation of unit dose syringes, chemotherapy medications, and compounding of solutions/medications used in the critical care and OR satellite areas.
• Maintaining adequate stock levels in assigned areas.
• Functions in accordance with standard written procedures, guidelines, and state and federal regulations.
• Works with pharmacy and technical staff to define and document business rules and best practice.
• Functions in duties of a Pharmacy Technician as needed.
