Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a pharmacy technician to provide order processing support for fulfillment and assist in preparing and distributing prescription medications in alignment with Walgreens systems and SOPs.

You will process registrations, enter refill orders, resolve data-entry issues, and support pharmacists. You must obtain an active technician license within 90 days and maintain it thereafter, while adhering to HIPAA and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Basic level PC skills (e.g., start up/shut down computer, use mouse, print documents).
• Basic search engine use and form filling online.

Responsibilities

• Process new patient registrations by entering data into the system per Walgreens procedures.
• Handle prescription requests within HIPAA guidelines and enter/refill orders.
• Troubleshoot missing information and interpret medical abbreviations (SIG codes).
• Run automated machinery, sort medications, and move inventory through workflow stages.
• Count, fill, label, pack and ship prescriptions; maintain a clean work area and machinery.
• Resolve third-party rejects by gathering information and resubmitting per plan requirements.
• Assist pharmacists in the facility and at other locations; escalate issues to senior staff as needed.
• Obtain and maintain an active technician license/certification within 90 days.
