Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA seeks a Full-time Inpatient Pharmacy Technician in Training. You will work a rotating 8-hour shift (6am-11pm with occasional overnights), 40 hrs/wk, and train under a licensed pharmacist to dispense medications and ensure supply continuity.

Enrollment in an approved technician training program and certification within 30 days of hire are required, with potential for bonuses and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• Enrollment in an approved pharmacy tech training program or Guild Program within hire.
• Certification as a technician-in-training within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Fills and delivers medications under supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Ensures adequate supplies for continuous patient care.
• Triages questions outside technician scope and escalates as needed.
• Uses systems for processing patient information and maintains QA per requirements.
• Operates pharmacy equipment and supports other duties as assigned.

Hours:

6am-11pm* (occasional overnight coverage)

Weekends:

Every Other Weekend

Holiday Rotation

Registered Pharmacy technician-in-training in the state of practice. Performs care delivery and dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $21.15 - $32.72 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
