Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is hiring a Full-time Inpatient Pharmacy Technician. You will perform care delivery and dispensing under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, ensuring accurate medication preparation and timely distribution.

The role offers multiple shifts, rotating 8-hour shifts, with a 6am-11pm schedule and occasional overnight coverage, including every other weekend. A Virginia Pharmacy Tech License is required.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Technician license required in state of practice (Virginia).
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CPhT license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fills and delivers medications under supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Ensures adequate supplies for continuous patient care.
• Triages questions outside scope of practice and escalates as needed.
• Uses pharmacy systems to process patient information.
• Maintains quality assurance per departmental and legal requirements.
• Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately.

Location:

Norfolk, VA- Sentara Norfolk General Hospital

Status:

Full Time (40 hrs/wk)

Shift:

Rotating (8 hour shift)

Hours:

6am-11pm* (occasional overnight coverage)

Weekends:

Every Other Weekend

Pharmacy Technicians perform care delivery and dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.

The base pay range for full-time employment is $23.50 - $36.36 hourly.Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
