Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Data Center Materials and Install Technician to manage inventory, support server assembly, and ensure safe, compliant material handling in a U.S. datacenter environment.

The role requires 3–5 years of related experience, strong customer service skills, and the ability to work across multiple departments while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide and maintain effective material orders, customer service, and inventory management.
• Handle customer material movement requests.
• Assemble and install servers and electronic components using hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices.
• Oversee loading and unloading inbound and outbound freight.
• Manage shipping documents and records.
• Perform quality checks on freight, including part numbers, quantities, and material condition.
• Execute daily inventory cycle counts and replenishment orders for critical datacenter spare parts.
• Process return shipments using multiple warehouse management systems.
• Place server racks on the datacenter floor using laser measuring devices with 100% accuracy.
• Populate electronic components and install cabling into server racks using diagrams and schematics.
• Install rack hardware using hand, power, and measuring tools.
• Operate straddle stackers, rack movers, and electric pallet jacks.
• Perform and oversee cleanup activities, ensuring safety, cleanliness, and adherence to 5S standards.
• Interact regularly with customers and onsite stakeholders.
• Delegate and coach team members.
