Job summary

Avera Health in the Integrated Services Center is seeking a Pharmacy Purchasing Technician to manage generalized buying and purchasing functions for pharmacy services. You will contact vendors for pricing, prepare reports, and work with hospital staff to determine needs and optimize costs.

The role requires CPhT certification within 2 years, state-registered tech within 30 days, and 3–5 years in healthcare/pharmacy supply. On-site position with strong emphasis on accuracy and collaboration.

Qualifications

• CPhT certification required within 2 years.
• Registered Pharmacy Technician with state board active within 30 days.
• 3–5 years of experience in healthcare/pharmacy supply chain.

Responsibilities

• Performs purchasing functions including contacting vendors for pricing, quantities, and delivery times.
• Prepares departmental reports and analyzes goods and services for pharmacy; creates and disseminates reports to staff.
• Interacts with hospital staff and vendors to determine needs and optimize purchase prices.
• Assists with analysis and implementation of contracts.
• Keeps pharmacy databases up to date for inventory and pharmaceutical costs.
• Coordinates inventory control and supports daily delivery of inventory.
