Job summary

Avera Health is seeking a Pharmacy Purchasing Technician to manage generalized buying and purchasing functions within the hospital pharmacy. You will liaise with vendors to secure pricing, quantities, and delivery times, and generate department reports for cost control and efficiency.

The role requires CPhT certification, active state registration, and 3–5 years in healthcare/pharmacy supply chain, with a focus on data analysis and contract support. A hybrid team environment is typical.

Qualifications

• CPhT certification within 2 years.
• Registered Pharmacy Technician license active within 30 days.
• 3–5 years healthcare/pharmacy supply chain experience.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs generalized buying and purchasing functions.
• Contacts vendors to obtain pricing, quantities, and delivery times for goods and services.
• Prepares departmental reports and analyzes goods and services required by the hospital.
• Interacts with hospital employees and physicians to determine needs for goods and services.
• Assists with analysis and implementation of contracts.
• Maintains purchasing data and ensures DSCSA compliance.
