Johns Hopkins Care at Home is seeking an Outpatient Pharmacy Technician in Baltimore, MD to support prescription processing, patient inquiries, and insurance coordination under the supervision of pharmacists.

Responsibilities

• Receive inbound contacts (calls, emails, faxes, etc) from patients, providers and insurance companies.
• Interview callers to understand requests and coordinate pharmacy tasks over the phone, from processing prescriptions to updating insurance and demographics, while maintaining high service levels.

Working under the direct supervision of pharmacists and alongside other skilled technicians, you'll be responsible for a diverse range of tasks aimed at supporting medication preparation, packaging, distribution, and inventory management.

What You'll Do

• Enter prescription details into EPIC Willow Ambulatory system.
• Be responsible for receiving inbound contacts (calls, emails, faxes, etc) from patients, providers and insurance companies.
• Be responsible for interviewing callers to obtain a full understanding of what information is being requested, coordinating over the phone pharmacy tasks ranging from processing a prescription medication to updating patients' insurance and demographics, while maintaining high level customer service on every call.

What You'll Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Pharmacy Technician Registration with the Maryland Board of Pharmacy
• 2 + years of pharmacy technician experience required
• National certification as a pharmay technician by the PTCB or NHA required
• Knowledge of insurance and claims
• Extreme attention to detail
• High level of proficiency with operating computer systems

Salary Range: Minimum 20.53/hour - Maximum 33.90/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
