Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a full-time certified pharmacy technician in the United States. You will assist pharmacists with patient care, data entry, and medication preparation, under supervision, while leading non-clinical staff and coordinating daily pharmacy operations.

You will participate in vaccine administration and health services as allowed by law, manage inventory, ensure compliance, and contribute to customer service excellence.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• PTCB certification required (except in Puerto Rico).
• One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in retail or hospital setting.
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacist in patient care including registration, prescription data entry, preparation of medications, counting, and verifying.
• Delegate non-clinical work per policy; ensure on-time tasks and accountability.
• Prepare and file reports and records required by company and government agencies.
• Manage pharmacy workflow and daily schedule; coordinate hours and ensure supplies are stocked.
• Oversee inventory preparation and annual counts, under pharmacist direction.
• Communicate prescription errors to pharmacist and follow QA processes.
• Ensure accurate processing of insurance claims and follow up with payers.
• Support store and pharmacy managers in improving financials, operations, and customer service.
• Coordinate off-site immunization clinics and community events; build partnerships.
