Job summary

Walgreens in Virginia Beach is seeking a full-time certified pharmacy technician to support non-clinical operations and patient services under pharmacist supervision. You will handle prescription processing, data entry, patient registration, and daily workflow to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

You will lead non-clinical tasks, assist with vaccines and health services where allowed by law, and contribute to excellent customer experiences.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• PTCB certification required (except in Puerto Rico).
• At least 1 year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacist in patient care activities including patient registration, prescription data entry, and preparation of medications under supervision.
• Assist with healthcare service offerings including vaccines and health screenings where permitted by law.
• Manage non-clinical tasks, including inventory, scheduling, and daily pharmacy workflow to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
• Communicate prescription errors to the pharmacist and participate in quality improvement processes.
• Support efforts to resolve insurance claims and coordinate with providers to prevent payment rejections.
