Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a full-time certified pharmacy technician to support non-clinical pharmacy operations, ensure efficient workflow, and provide a positive patient experience under a pharmacist's supervision.

You will assist with prescription processing, patient data entry, vaccine administration where allowed, inventory tasks, reporting, and community outreach, while maintaining compliance with laws and company policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
• 1 year of work experience as pharmacy technician in retail or hospital.
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire (except in Community Specialty Pharmacy and Health System Pharmacy locations).
• Preferred: previous people management/leadership experience.
• Preferred: prior Walgreens experience with Exceeding Expectation on last performance evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacist in patient care including patient registration, prescription data entry, preparation of medications, counting, and verification where allowed by law.
• Under pharmacist supervision, help with healthcare services such as administering vaccines and health screenings where permitted by law.
• Delegate, direct, and assign non-clinical work to team while ensuring on-time task completion and workflow efficiency.
• Prepare and file reports required by the company and government agencies; manage inventory and daily pharmacy schedules.
• Maintain security, recordkeeping, and compliance with Good Faith Dispensing policies; communicate prescription errors as required.
• Engage customers, resolve complaints, promote services, and build relationships with retail partnerships.
