Job summary

Walgreens in Greeneville, TN seeks a full-time certified pharmacy technician to support day-to-day non-clinical and pharmacy operations under supervision of a pharmacist. You will assist with prescription data entry, patient registration, vaccine and health service offerings where allowed by law, and training of staff while ensuring compliance and patient safety.

A High School Diploma or GED, PTCB certification, 1 year of retail or hospital tech experience, and fluent English are required;

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• PTCB certification required (except in Puerto Rico).
• One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacist in patient care activities including patient registration and prescription data entry.
• Prepare medications for patients, count, and verify under supervision.
• Administer vaccines and health services where allowed by law.
• Delegate non-clinical work per company policies and law; ensure timely task completion.
• Manage inventory preparation and recordkeeping; ensure security safeguards are in place.
• Communicate prescription errors to the pharmacist and assist with insurance processing and 3rd party audits.
