Job summary

Inova Retail and Specialty Pharmacy seeks a Pharmacy Liaison 1 for a full-time day shift (Mon-Fri) at Chantilly, VA. You will manage prior authorizations, help patients access medications, interact with physicians and payers, and maintain patient profiles.

Qualifications include a Virginia Registered Pharmacy Technician with BLS within 3 months and 3 years as a Pharmacy Technician, plus 1 year in Pharmacy Billing.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3 years experience as Pharmacy Technician.
• 1 year experience with Pharmacy Billing.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes clinical documentation to obtain prior authorization approvals and appeals.
• Assists patients with timely pharmacy access and documents communications with patients and providers.
• Works with payers to obtain coverage and resolves prescription insurance billing problems.
• Cleans equipment, maintains temperature logs, and inventory/ procurement per policy.
• Maintains up-to-date patient profiles, allergies, and medication reconciliation lists.

Pharmacy Liaison 1 J ob Responsibilities:

• Utilizes clinical documentation to obtain prior authorization approvals and appeals.
• Assists patients with timely pharmacy access to medications and documents all related communications with patients, physicians, finance, nursing, case management in appropriate platform.
• Works with payers to obtain coverage for patients and appropriate emergency one-time overrides when needed and resolves prescription insurance billing problems.
• Cleans equipment, maintains all required temperature logs, and maintains accurate inventory values and drug procurement as per policies and procedures.
• Maintains accurate and up to date patient profiles and allergy and up to date medication reconciliation lists.

Minimum Requirements:

• Education: High School or GED .
• Experience : Three (3) years' experience working as a Pharmacy Technician and One (1) year experience with Pharmacy Billing.
• Certification : Registered Pharmacy Technician in the state of Virginia. Basic Life Support (BLS) within 3 months of hire.
