Job summary

Inova Health System’s Retail and Specialty Pharmacy team seeks a Pharmacy Liaison 1 to join the unit. This full-time, day-shift role operates Monday through Friday at our Chantilly location, 3901 Stonecroft Blvd.

You will assist patients with timely access to medications, coordinate with physicians, payers, and internal teams, and manage prior authorizations and billing communications. A Virginia-licensed Pharmacy Technician with relevant experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years’ experience working as a Pharmacy Technician.
• One (1) year experience with Pharmacy Billing.
• Registered Pharmacy Technician in the state of Virginia with BLS within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes clinical documentation to obtain prior authorization approvals and appeals.
• Assists patients with timely pharmacy access to medications and documents all related communications with patients, physicians, finance, nursing, case management in appropriate platform.
• Works with payers to obtain coverage for patients and appropriate emergency one-time overrides when needed and resolves prescription insurance billing problems.
• Cleans equipment, maintains all required temperature logs, and maintains accurate inventory values and drug procurement as per policies and procedures.
• Maintains accurate and up to date patient profiles and allergy and up to date medication reconciliation lists.
