Job summary

Inova Alexandria Hospital in Virginia seeks a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. This full-time role operates Monday through Friday with days/evenings rotating and every other weekend, supporting pharmacists and ensuring accurate dispensing.

Qualifications

• Education: High School or GED.
• Certification: VA Pharmacy Technician registration or intern license; BLS within 3 months.
• Experience: 1 year as Pharmacy Technician preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains an adequate stock of medications and supplies according to established policies.
• Accurately pre-packs medications and restocks code cart and stock kits.
• Restocks assigned areas, puts away unused medications, and uses inventory procedures.
• Orders items, stocks shelves, processes returns and identifies vendor errors.
• Accurately fills automated dispensing devices and unit doses.
• Assists Pharmacist in drug selection and counting medications.

Education

High School or GED

Virginia Pharmacy Technician certification or Pharmacy intern license

Basic Life Support (BLS) within 3 months of hire

Inova Alexandria Hospital is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join the team. This role will be full-time Monday – Friday, Days/Evenings rotating shifts. Every other weekend .

• Orders items, properly stocks shelves, processes returns and identifies vendor errors.
• Accurately fills automated dispensing devices and unit dose pick, first doses and floor stock.
• Assists Pharmacist in drug selection and counting medications accurately.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High School or GED.

Certification: Registered Pharmacy Technician in the state of Virginia or a Pharmacy intern license. Basic Life Support (BLS) within 3 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience: One (1) year experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
