Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a pharmacy assistant to support the pharmacist under supervision, handling prescriptions and customer interactions. The role requires helping with cash handling, store opening/closing, and maintaining accurate records and inventory.

Experience in retail and familiarity with pharmacy systems are preferred. A focus on delivering excellent customer service and following company policies will be essential to success in this position.

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prefer prior Walgreens experience.
• Prefer good math skills for accurate prescription filling.
• Prefer good computer skills.
• Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.
• Prefer PTCB or ExCPT certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacist under supervision in dispensing and patient information.
• Open/close the store and handle cash while ensuring readiness for business day.
• Maintain inventory counts and pricing with proper signage.
• Process cash drops, refunds, and other clerical duties as needed.
• Support pharmacy workflow and pickup program; enter required data in systems.
• Enter patient and drug information accurately into pharmacy systems; check for interactions.
• Ensure adherence to Good Faith Dispensing and policy requirements.
• Maintain store cleanliness and respond to maintenance requests.
