Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a Pharmacy Professional to provide consulting on medication usage, review and dispense prescriptions, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. The role supports workflow optimization, inventory management, and customer experience enhancements.

Responsibilities include counseling patients, performing drug therapy reviews, handling immunizations, and maintaining proficiency with pharmacy systems.

Qualifications

• Willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited educational institution prior to the start date in position.
• Willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure from the respective Board of Pharmacy in the states within the district within 90 days of hire per district guidelines.
• Certified Immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Counsels patients and answers questions regarding usage, side effects, interactions, contraindications, privacy, generics, OTC products; refers to medical provider as needed.
• Performs pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.
• Ensures the pharmacy operates in accordance to regulations, company policies and standards; helps establish efficient workflow and shift duties.
• Maintains knowledge of pharmacy systems (Intercom Plus, registers, StoreNET) and proposes enhancements to promote productivity.
• Responsible for opening/closing the pharmacy and coordinating staff roles and activities.
• Supports Good Faith Dispensing policy and follows state/federal laws for controlled substances.
• Follows up with providers to clarify prescriptions and questions; performs immunizations and preventive healthcare services.
• Assists in analyzing performance data, KPI review, and inventory management with leadership.
• Develops relationships with local medical community and participates in outreach to promote growth.
