Job summary

Walgreens Boots Alliance is seeking a Pharmacy Intern to engage in post-graduate pharmacy activities under direct supervision, focusing on compounding, dispensing, and patient counseling to ensure safe medication use and regulatory compliance.

The role supports pharmacy operations and customer experience, helping optimize workflow, inventory, and service delivery, including immunizations and preventive care, while continuing professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from accredited University outside the United States.
• Foreign Pharmacist Graduate Equivalency Certificate (FPGEC) is required.
• Intern permit/certificate issued by the respective Board of Pharmacy, if required.
• Willingness to obtain licensure within 45 days of intern hours.
• Certified Immunizer or willingness to become one within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Engages customers and patients, greets them, assists with products and services, and resolves issues.
• Counsels patients on medicine usage, side effects, interactions, and generics; refer to medical provider as needed.
• Perform pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.
• Dispense medications accurately and ensure compliance with regulations and policies.
• Support pharmacy operations, optimize workflow, inventory; assist in opening/closing and shift duties.
• Participate in immunizations, wellness services, and patient education initiatives.
• Develop relationships with local medical community and support community outreach.
