Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is offering a grant-funded role within the HEAL High School partnership to develop and deliver pharmacy education curricula and related learning experiences for high school students. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from an accredited university-based program (PharmD or Master’s preferred).
• Completion of ASHP accredited pharmacy practice residency or fellowship or demonstration of equivalent experience preferred.
• Current license to practice Pharmacy issued by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy Licensure in State of Texas; Pharmacy Sterile Product certification through an in-house program or other accredited program.
• Effective oral and written communication skills. Viewed as an “expert and leader” within chosen discipline. Knowledge of process improvement roles for facility leaders. Values high standards in utilization of pharmacy and hospital computer systems, computer-assisted devices and operations.

Responsibilities

• Serves as an educational resource at the service level and for core pharmacy activities.
• Serves as a role model for competent professional practice by educating, mentoring, and supporting students, staff, residents, and peers.
• Develops curriculum for identified learning needs.
• Facilitates and coordinates individual learning plans.
• Develops and maintains new employee orientation program.
• Communicates effectively with all levels of the healthcare team.
• Promotes patient education and safety within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity, and quality of service.
• Collaborates with other disciplines to develop and coordinate facility level Pharmacy education plans.
