Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System in Houston is seeking a Nurse Educator to design and deliver educational experiences that promote competent, high-quality patient care. The position supports clinical staff in acquiring knowledge and advancing professional development, reporting to the campus Manager or Director of Clinical Education and Professional Development.

The role emphasizes competency management, evidence-based practices, collaboration with learners and stakeholders, and ongoing coaching

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required.
• Current State of Texas license or temporary/compact license to practice professional nursing required. Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Two (2) years of nursing experience required. One (1) year education related experience preferred. Effective oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs competency management job functions including needs assessment, gap analysis and monitoring of compliance.
• Develops and disseminates fundamental educational content/programs utilizing various learning methods/domains.
• Applies Nursing Professional Development (NPD) scope and standards into practice.
• Participates in interprofessional collaboration with learners and other stakeholders utilizing effective communication.
• Demonstrates awareness and understanding of EBPs/research/quality initiatives.
• Coaches and provides feedback to preceptors and/or orientees and assesses orientation progress.
• Monitors the internal and external environments for opportunities and challenges that may affect professional practice gaps.
• Facilities learning, change and professional role competence and growth.
