Customer Experience
- Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, including interpersonal habits (e.g., greeting, eye contact, courtesy, etc.) and Walgreens service traits (e.g., offering help proactively, identifying needs, servicing until satisfied, etc.).
Operations
- Provides courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service to customers.
- Recommends items for sale and suggests trade-up or complementary products.
- Handles transactions at the cash register, including collecting cash, giving change, processing voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges. Assists customers in locating products, such as guiding them to OTC aisles.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of counters and shelves, manages inventory, and records stock levels. Checks in and prices merchandise as directed.
- Supports pharmacy operations by entering patient and drug information into pharmacy systems, filling prescriptions, verifying medication accuracy, and checking for drug interactions. Assists pharmacists with scheduling and workflow management.
- Reports prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist and follows company policies regarding pharmacy errors and quality improvement. Adheres to the Pharmacy Code of Conduct and Good Faith Dispensing policies.
- Handles non-urgent phone calls, including communication with physicians.
- Processes third-party prescription claims and performs clerical duties as assigned.
- Supports inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing pharmaceuticals. Maintains knowledge of asset protection procedures and files claims for discrepancies.
- Ensures compliance with laws regarding regulated products like alcohol and tobacco.
- Constructs and maintains store displays, including promotional and seasonal setups, and performs resets as needed.
- Assists with food product placement, stock rotation, and restocking using FIFO methods.
- Operates store systems and equipment proficiently.
- Provides photo services, including passport photos, poster prints, and promotional products.
- Manages web order pickups, including monitoring, fulfilling, and delivering orders.
- Maintains store cleanliness and appearance, supporting exterior and interior upkeep.
- Follows all company policies and maintains respectful coworker relationships.
- Performs additional tasks and special assignments as directed.
Training & Personal Development
- Maintains PTCB certification through the required training and continuing education.
- Attends training sessions, completes required courses, and stays updated on healthcare and pharmacy developments.
Additional requirements include:
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
