Job description

  • Models and delivers a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
  • Registers sales on assigned cash register, provides customers with courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service.
  • Assists the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state and federal regulations. Responsible for using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
Customer Experience
  • Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, including interpersonal habits (e.g., greeting, eye contact, courtesy) and Walgreens service traits (e.g., offering help proactively, identifying needs, servicing until satisfied).
Operations
  • Provides courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service to customers.
  • Recommends items for sale, including trade-up and/or companion items.
  • Registers customer purchases, handles cash, and processes voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges. Assists customers in locating products.
  • Keeps counters and shelves clean and well-merchandised, takes inventory, and maintains records. Checks in and prices merchandise as directed.
  • Utilizes pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, ensuring accuracy. Assists pharmacists with scheduling and workflow management.
  • Reports prescription errors immediately and adheres to company policies regarding pharmacy errors and quality improvement. Complies with the Pharmacy Code of Conduct and Good Faith Dispensing policies.
  • Handles non-urgent telephone calls, including those to physicians.
  • Processes manual claims for third-party prescription services and performs clerical duties as assigned.
  • Supports inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals. Maintains knowledge of asset protection techniques and files claims for discrepancies.
  • Ensures compliance with laws regarding regulated products like alcohol and tobacco.
  • Constructs and maintains displays, including promotional and seasonal setups, and completes resets as directed.
  • Assists with food product placement and stock rotation following FIFO principles.
  • Maintains knowledge of store systems and equipment.
  • Provides customer service in the photo area, including passport photos, poster prints, and promotional photo products.
  • Manages web order pick-up responsibilities, including monitoring and fulfilling orders.
  • Supports store cleanliness and appearance, ensuring a neat and orderly environment.
  • Follows all company policies and maintains respectful coworker relationships.
  • Completes additional tasks and special assignments as needed.
Training & Personal Development
  • Maintains PTCB certification and/or state certification/registration through designated training programs.
  • Attends training sessions, completes PPLs, and acquires continuing education credits to stay current in healthcare and pharmacy developments.
  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
  • Willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
