Customer Experience
- Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, including interpersonal habits (e.g., greeting, eye contact, courtesy) and Walgreens service traits (e.g., offering help proactively, identifying needs, servicing until satisfied).
Operations
- Provides courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service to customers.
- Recommends items for sale and suggests trade-up or companion products.
- Handles transactions at the cash register, including collecting cash, giving change, processing voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges. Assists customers in locating products in the OTC aisle.
- Keeps counters and shelves clean and well-merchandised, maintains inventory, and records transactions. Checks in and prices merchandise as directed by store management.
- Supports pharmacy operations under supervision, including entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying accuracy, and checking for interactions. Assists pharmacists with scheduling and workflow management.
- Immediately reports prescription errors to the pharmacist and follows company policies regarding pharmacy errors and quality improvement. Adheres to the Walgreens Pharmacy Code of Conduct and Good Faith Dispensing policies.
- Handles non-urgent phone calls, including those to physicians.
- Processes manual third-party prescription claims promptly and performs clerical duties as assigned.
- Supports pharmacy inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals. Maintains knowledge of asset protection and files claims for overages, shortages, errors, or damaged goods.
- Ensures compliance with laws regarding regulated products like alcohol and tobacco.
- Constructs and maintains displays, including seasonal and promotional setups, and completes resets as directed.
- Assists with food product placement and stock rotation using FIFO method.
- Possesses working knowledge of store systems and equipment.
- Provides customer service in the photo area, including passport photos, poster prints, and promotional products.
- Manages web order pickups, including monitoring, picking, and delivering orders.
- Supports store cleanliness and appearance.
- Follows all policies and maintains respectful relationships with coworkers.
- Completes assigned tasks and special projects as needed.
Training & Personal Development
- Maintains PTCB certification or relevant state certification/registration through designated training programs.
- Attends training sessions, completes PPLs, and acquires continuing education credits to stay current in healthcare and pharmacy practices.
Additional requirements include fluency in English (except in Puerto Rico) and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
